I am a dancer, choreographer, producer, and sometimes sculptor based in New York City. I trained at Pacific Northwest Ballet, and hold a Certificate in Contemporary Dance from Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet Training Program. I was a company dancer with Donald Byrd’s Spectrum Dance Theatre from 2021-2023. In New York City, I have performed for Mark Bankin in a manmade lake, with Elena Dahn inside her silicon painting, and in other works at Westbeth Artist Housing, Brooklyn Peace Center, Barnard Movement Lab, Physfest NYC, A Space Gallery, and Jeff’s East Village apartment.
My dance work is based in neo-classical ballet and modern dance techniques, because they are my first language. I am interested in challenging these techniques, arranging steps into a syntax that surprises me and challenges the notion of what steps can say. Always, I am using the body to express what I think it shows best: connection, emotion, effort, gravity, and decay.
I produce site specific performances in New York City through Body Artifacts. Body Artifacts curates queer, conceptual performances in unconventional spaces. So far, I, with a number of indelible collaborators, have produced sold-out performances in the chapel of St. John the Divine and the halfpipe of Substance Skatepark.
